When we read series of data, we try to find any correlation with other data (e.g from finance perspective). For example if we see the trend of production data increasing, there is a correlation with the price. Economist try to find the optimum position and then make highest profit as possible. Economist also build the scenario, exercise and execute that scenario by executing policy. The result? the world as we seen nowadays.

Environmentalist on the another hand, trying to understand this data in a non financial perspective such as on emissions or impact to the environment.
