How to cite LEAP

leave a comment »

LEAP (Long-range Energy Alternative Planning) is powerful tool for energy and environment analysis. This tool is widely used not only for energy analyst, with technical background, but also with economist or other planner without technical/engineering background, or even Computer Scientist who looking to develop a computer based modelling using LEAP.

But this popularity might have consequences, especially for starter like me that found a lot of reference on LEAP, which sometimes confusing. For example when I try to search LEAP using Google Scholar/Scopus I found that a lot of variation of ways that people used to cite LEAP.

The recommended version, as written in Commend/SEI website is as below. Which this kind of version also appear in Google Scholar
Heaps, C. G. “Long-Range Energy Alternatives Planning (Leap) System.[Software Version 2011.0043].” Somerville MA, USA: Stockholm Environment Institute (2012).
