How to be Scientist
Scientist is the one that has systematic method to predict, explain or make something (applied scientist) usually by observation or experiment. Scientist usually lives in university or research institution. From scientist point of view, everything can be seen as science. For example:
- Computer Science is the scientific and practical approach to computation and its applications. It is the systematic study of the feasibility, structure, expression, and mechanization of the methodical procedures (or algorithms) that underlie the acquisition, representation, processing, storage, communication of, and access to information.
- Environmental Science, is an integrated, quantitative, and interdisciplinary approach to the study of environmental systems.
- Engineering Science, multidisciplinary honors program that emphasizes enhanced understanding and integrated application of engineering, scientific, and mathematical principles
Management Science, although true manager can only be acquired through real life situation, there are a lot of management method that originally from scientific approach of management. Gantt chart for simple example. By definition, Management Science is the broad interdisciplinary study of problem solving and decision making in human organizations, with strong links to economics, business, engineering, and other sciences.
Finally there are a lot of reason why science majors change their minds
