Sources of Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Which Sector? Economic vs Inventory

A good introdution from EPA and EIA

The sources of GHG emissions can be seen from two perspective, by economic sector or by inventory sector. By Economic sector in US the sources of emissions are:
– Electricity (31%)
– Transportation (27%)
– Industry (21%)
– Commercial & Residential (12%)
– Agriculture (9%)

By Inventory sector (according to 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories) the sources of emissions are
– Energy 84.5% (Stationary Combustion, Mobile Combustion, Fugitive, CO2 Transport)
– Agriculture
– Industrial Process
– Land-use Change and Forest
– Waste
