Economist vs Analyst writing styles
Yesterday, I made some notes on the difference between Reporter (write objective factual writing) and Scientist (write subjective scientific opinion writing).
However, today I made another notes on the difference among scientist, which specifically between economics scientiest (economist) and energy scientiest (analyst) here is the comparison:
Indonesia is a country with abundant natural resources. Indonesia has high energy consumption growth, but low in energy utilization per capita and low energy utilization.
Total Primary Energy Supply (TPES) growing with growth rate of 2.52% between 2002 and 2012, while Total Final Consumption (TCF) annual growth rate of 2.49% in the same period.
The biggest problem in this situation is sustainability. Dependency of fossil fuel will harm the environment. The solution is (always) shift to cleaner energy source. The next question is which type of energy (coal, crude oil), which sector (residential, transportation) that should be shift (bottom up)
Indonesia is developing country and the energy development is crucial in overall country’s development. From economy perspective, energy has significant contribution to economy. Energy and natural resources share of export is increase from 24% to 35% in between 2002 and 2012. This growth indicated by shift from declining oil and gas export from 15% to 14% and significant growth of coal export from 3% to 12% and palm oil export from 3% to 8%. Indonesia average GDP growth rate of 5.7% between 2000 and 2012.
The biggest problem in this situation is sustainability. Declining oil production will decrease the buying power, increase inflation. The solution is (always) market liberalization. The next question is which industry, which energy sector (upstream, midstream, downstream) that should be policied (top down)
Wow. Good job.
