Indonesia Sulphur Content of Fuel (%)

leave a comment »

Having the exact amount of sulphur content of coal in Indonesia is difficult, the closest assumption is using IPCC, which is around 0.5%. However based on my observation from KPC (biggest coal company in Indonesia) is averaging 0.54%

Sub-Bituminous Coal: 0.5%
Unless coal S content is known precisely, choose the most appropriate value from: low S = 0.5 %, medium S = 1.5 %, high S = 3.0 %, (IPCC, 1996).

KPC Prima 0.67%, Pinang 0.7%, Melawan 0.25% = Average 0.54% KPC report 2008
Indonesia 0.07 – 0.9% = Average 0.485%
KPC Prima2, KPC Pinang 0.5% ref wordpress = Average 0.5%
Adaro 0.1%,

For Gas/Diesel Sulphur content, my assumption is from Pertamina which estimated
0.35% (Jan 2015), 0.3% (Jan 2016), 0.25% (Jan 2017)

Gas/Diesel Oil: 0.3%
For diesel (non-road use) choose the most appropriate value from: low S = 0.3 %, high S = 1.0 % (IPCC, 1996).
