Kendala Bahasa, tidak sekedar Kendala Budaya

leave a comment »

Management Consulting / Traditional Approach
Wave 1: ISO Standard 9001 / PDCA tahun 1995-an
Peter Drucker’s Management, Leadership, Marketing, Strategy

Wave 2: Strategic Management tahun 2000-an
Michael Porter’s competitive advantage, value chain, strategic management

Wave 3: Disruptive Technology tahun 2005-an
Clayton Christensen’s Innovation, Rogers Diffusion of Innovations (1962)

Finance Consulting / Modern Approach
Financial Crisis

ESG / Woke (Black Lives Matter 2020 George Floyd protests)

Stranger than Fiction

“Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Truth isn’t.”

― Mark Twain, Following the Equator: A Journey Around the World

I think, for many reasons, that only he get a beautiful voice, the background story is also very strong. This is an example of superiority. Lewis Capaldi (b1996).

Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World (2019) – Mengapa menjadi generalis tidak buruk

Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World (David Epstein 2019) ini sederhana saja.

Anatomy of Crime: Cyber Crime, Cyber Fraud

leave a comment »

I start to learn about human behavior, which I found very interesting, knowing that smart people are more likely to get scammed -and not only once. However this is super scary, knowing most of us is vulnerable.

For me its July 2022, its a Tax Office Auction (Penipuan Lelang Online). I get scammed for around 3 minutes via phone. Which is super scary at that time considering:
1.The way they speak very authority
“Pak Anjar, apakabar, masih kenal saya? kok lupa sih, kan terakhir ketemu”
I get tricked, because that is they way my client talk to me. I am waiting for the client call. And I am afraid that I might lose some money. This is the same thing as greed fear -fear will loosing the money.

2.It will not be a lie
At that time I saved -get back to reality after I realized it is scripted. This is credited to some event in 2005/2006 where my friend trick me with recorded audio in the phone pretending someone angry to me. My logic at that time saying, this will not be prank, as this is a phone call -I never thought that it was recorded message.

Anatomy:
1.Profession: appealing to authority or respected (doctors, lawyers, law enforcement)

2.Act: Acting to according to the social norms (help a sick child, to the desire for a romantic partnership, and someone wouldn’t purposely lie)

Vulnerable Victim:
1.Naiveté, overconfidence in one’s intelligence or abilities, an overly optimistic expectation of immediate success in life, or a desire to feel good about helping others.

Notes: some people viewed responding to a scam as a long-odds gamble

Fun facts:
1.Do you know that “We like the taste of salt innately because salt is a signal of protein in nature,” says Rachel Herz, an adjunct assistant professor of psychiatry and human behavior at Brown University and author of Why You Eat What You Eat.

Bread and butter, salt and peper

In the United Kingdom, the emergence of the breadwinner norm coincided with and helped to facilitate the removal of children from the workforce. In 1821, approximately 49% of the nation’s workforce was under the age of 20.
